Assure means to reassure someone that everything is okay.

He assured me the answer was correct.

ensure and insure

Ensure and insure can be used interchangeably to mean ‘make sure’. But insure can also mean to take out insurance, so best to keep them separate.

I rang to ensure/insure I would have a booking.
I insured my car today.
