He assured me that he would find the tennis ball lost in the bushes.
Next time we play, I will ensure we have a spare tennis ball.

Assure means to reassure someone that everything is okay.

He assured me the answer was correct.

ensure and insure

Ensure and insure can be used interchangeably to mean ‘make sure’. But insure can also mean to take out protective insurance, so best to keep them separate.

I rang to ensure/insure I would have a booking.
I insured my car today.
