Terms of use

By accessing or using any of the information, materials or functions available on the Online Writing Training (OWT) website and programs, you agree to the following terms of use. These terms of use are in addition to any other agreements with OWT or any other services provided by OWT.

OWT provides online writing programs written and developed by Mary Morel, The M Factor Pty Ltd, and associates. Except where otherwise expressly noted, the contents of the OWT website and programs, including software, program content, graphics, icons, text, screens images and overall appearance, are the exclusive property of OWT.

When you register for a program, you receive a licence to use the OWT programs and undertake not to copy, reproduce, translate, adapt, vary or modify the program/s without the express written consent of OWT.

OWT programs must be used in accordance with the directions provided and solely to improve writing skills. OWT does not guarantee your results after using its programs and organisations must not use OWT programs to performance manage employees.

Browser requirements

Please ensure you are using a recent browser. Preferred browsers are IE 8, IE 9, Firefox 3.x +, Safari 4.x and Chrome.

Refund policy

Please choose carefully. We do not normally give refunds if you simply change your mind or make a wrong decision. However, in exceptional circumstances, you may obtain a full refund if you notify OWT in writing of cancellation within 48 hours of payment and if less than 10% of the program has been completed.  

Privacy

In some parts of the web site, OWT may ask you for personal information. The information will only be used for the purpose stated and will not be disclosed beyond OWT without your consent. We will only record your e-mail address if you send us a message.

It will only be used for the purpose for which you have provided it and will be added only to OWT’s database. We will not use your e-mail address for any other purpose, and will not disclose it, without your consent.

OWT logs the following information for statistical purposes:

• Your server address
• Your top level domain name (e.g. .com, .gov, .au, .uk etc.)
• The date and time of the visit to the site
• The pages accessed and documents downloaded
• The previous site visited
• The type of browser used

OWT reserves the right to perform statistical analysis of user behaviour and characteristics in order to measure interest in and use of the various areas of the site and to ascertain the number of users that have visited particular web pages.

When purchasing from OWT, your financial details are passed through a secure server using the latest 128-bit SSL (secure sockets layer) encryption technology, which is the industry standard. If you have any questions regarding our security policy, please contact us.

OWT intends the information, materials and functions on its website and programs to be as current, complete and accurate as possible, but cannot guarantee and does not warrant the accuracy or reliability of the information, materials or functions available throughout OWT. You acknowledge that the programs cannot be guaranteed to be error free and acknowledge that the existence of any errors will not constitute a breach of the licence.

The OWT website may contain links to other internet sites and resources that are not related to or controlled by OWT. OWT assumes no responsibility or liability for any errors or omission in the materials or information available on or throughout such other internet sites or resources. The existence of such links is not an endorsement by OWT of such internet sites or their resources, contents or operators. In addition, such other internet sites and resources may provide less security than OWT and have a privacy policy different to that of OWT. Your access to and use of such internet sites and resources is at your own risk.

OWT will not be liable for any loss injury or damages whatsoever whether in an action, contract, negligence or other tort, which may result from the use of OWT’s website or programs or the materials and information they contain or in connection with any failure or performance, error or omission, interruption, delay in operation or transmission or other defect related to OWT’s website or programs.

Termination

OWT reserves the right to suspend or terminate your access and use of any programs at any time if you breach any of the provisions of the terms of use.

NSW laws

These terms of use will be governed by the laws of New South Wales and the parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales.

Online Writing Training changes to terms of use

OWT may amend or change the services or these terms of use from time to time in its sole discretion, by posting updated terms and conditions within the OWT website or by providing you with written notice via email. You agree to be bound by any modifications, changes or revisions made by OWT or to these terms of use. You agree that you are responsible for reviewing these terms of use regularly and your continued use of the OWT website and programs constitutes your acceptance of any modifications, changes or revisions or these terms of use.
